O HAPPY DAY

Barack H. Obama, 44th President of The United States of America

It was a glorious day---a day of hope and a day to remember. I shed a tear or two during the ceremonies and my heart is full of many things. Oh, I how I hope this man can truly lead us. It would make me so happy to be proud, once again, to be an American.

My daughter celebrated by wearing her Obama Mama t-shirt.

How amazing is it that we were present, whether in the District of Columbia or glued to our televisions, bearing witness to a moment in history?

I vividly remember hearing him speak for the first time at the Democratic Convention and thinking "Wow. I really like this guy. I guess that means he'll never go anywhere in politics." I am delighted to be wrong!

The TV scenes were amazing. He has a tough job ahead of him and I hope he can pull it off.It is great to witness such an historic occasion.

Hi there from Ilene in Fortuna!

Ah, yes - oh Happy Day (and hopefully days ahead, too). So many memories come into my head from late high school and early UCLA days - never thought this day would come. Please keep everyone safe.

Ilene

p.s. I'll see you at ArtFest!

Your team had eight years, my darling other daughter---the one who went over to the dark side! It's time to give someone else a chance.

Here's a hankie....

Hi Michele
thanks for your recent comment on my blog, I think I'm getting the hang of it!
I am one of the very happy ones to see Obama take over - I found my favorite quotes & had to post them, love the one from the original Democratic Convention too & was so struck at the time thinking, that guy should be president, such wisdom.

We are very proud of the American people for the decision they have taken in electing Barack Obama. It is a right step in the direction for us 'foreigners' to once again look up to the USA, something we haven't done for a long time. Well done.
