Paint Oaxaca!!!---Part 2

Casa de Las Bugambilias

Our warm, colorful, comfortable and even centrally located in the Old Town section of Oaxaca was Casa de Las Bugambilias.

I can't write about this wonderful B & B without gushing.  Really, I can't.  Each room was unique and exceedingly comfortable.  The whole place is chock full of wonderful original art work, like the examples above.  Every day I discovered another treasure hidden here and there.  It was a feast for the eyes.

And speaking of feasts.....the breakfasts were to die for!  Every morning we started off with a gorgeous plate of fresh fruit and two different freshly prepared juice choices.  Then the main course would be served.  Every day it was a different entree.  My favorite was the morning we had the tamale with black bean filling, delicately seasoned with an avocado leaf.  But there was not a morning when breakfast failed to delight.

Not only was the food marvelous, but each day we had a new, lovely and colorful table-scape.  There were napkin confections, fresh flowers, different dishes and a variety of jewel-toned goblets for the juices.  Every detail had been thought about carefully and every detail was perfect.

You can see how I "suffered" in the photo above.....

Up on the roof there was a lovely patio where we were wined and dined on our first night, with a spectacular view towards Santo Domingo.

Several times during our stay a woman would appear with handicrafts for our shopping delight.  One morning it was aprons with floral embroidery.....

.....and another day we had an amazing kaleidoscope  of hand and machine embroidered blouses from which to choose.  These items were truly beautiful and very fairly priced.

The lady responsible for the whole shebang was so beautiful.  And just as lovely as she looks.

Emilia, the head of the Cabrera family

Sra. Cabrera and her staff provided the best and friendliest service throughout our stay.  To them all a big, grateful muchas gracias.  They all deserve angel wings!

If you are going to be staying in Oaxaca, I can highly recommend the Las Bugambilias!  Whole heartedly.
